Overview
Google Maps has gained a loyal following due to its accurate, comprehensive, and user-friendly mapping service. Recently, the Google Maps team sought to boost engagement with a new feature allowing users to save their home and work addresses. To help them achieve this goal, they turned to our team. The new feature not only saves people time in their daily commutes but also enables Google to provide more precise predictions

After talking through several solutions the team aligned on the idea of stickers for home and work. We wanted to create fun and engaging way for you to express yourself within google maps.
Solutions
We ended up designing 24 unique icons to represent home and work, suitable whether you're crashing on a couch or living in a yellow submarine. Each icon is available as a sticker, so you can choose the one that best fits your style.
We utilized the martial design color palette and guidance while designing. We also kept in mind the size of the final product while creating these icons, so we opted for basic shapes that would scale nicely and not lose their detail.

The project launch generated significant buzz, with users expressing their surprise and delight with the new stickers. Such was the success that the Google Maps team approached us to create a few additional stickers to celebrate the release of the latest Star Wars film. In response, we designed a new set of illustrations to replace the chevron, home, and work icons, further enhancing the user experience.
